| Our Logo ... |
The Strodes Creek Conservancy logo is an American bittern. It has a vast range from British Columbia east to Newfoundland and south to the Gulf Coast and west to southern California. Its reason for decline is loss of habitat. The American bittern is in the heron family. If alarmed, a bittern will stand motionless with its bill pointed straight up. Water pollution control efforts will help protect the habitat of the American bittern.
