Capture tap water. While you wait for hot water to come down the pipes, catch the flow in a watering can to use later on house plants or your garden.
Saves 200 to 300 gallons per month.

Agricultural Project
And The Winner Is…You!

The SCC would like to offer agricultural best management practice assistance to landowners in the Strodes Creek watershed. The SCC has received funding to install approximately 3 miles of fencing along creeks in the Strodes Creek watershed and provide alternative water supplies for livestock that have been fenced out of those creeks. If you are interested in the program and desire to use city water as your alternative water source, the project does not pay for the cost of the hook-up. The project only applies to fields that have livestock in them and use the creek as a water source.

Assistance is available on a first come-first served basis. A 25:75 cost share ratio will be administered to help offset the cost of installing the BMPs with you paying 25 % of the cost of the practice and the SCC paying 75% of the cost of the practice. We would like to emphasize that this program is fairly noncompetitive since it is only being offered to those landowners in the Strodes Creek Watershed. In other words, you have a good chance of being selected for a project, if you choose to participate!

You may call to apply for the program at 859.745.4042 or call the Natural Resource Conservation Service at 859.745.2828.

This project is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under §319(h) of the Clean Water Act through the Kentucky Division of Water to Strodes Creek Conservancy (Grant C9994861-04).
